Many people like to bath their dogs in between grooms. This is a great way to keep your pet fresh.

Here are a few tips:

- Brush the coat out first, with a slicker brush and them comb to make sure it is matt free. (Be careful not to brush too hard as you can give your pet brush burn)

- Do not attempt to cut out matts with scissors. It is very easy to cut your pet's skin - leave matt removal to your groomer.

- Shampoo (Human shampoo should not be used as your pet's hair is not formulated the same as yours). Look for a pet shampoo that will restore moisture and healthiness. Ask your groomer for advice.

- Do not bath a dog with matts as wetting the matts only make them tighter, the shampoo won't rinse out properly and then won't dry out very well, and your pet's skin will become irritated.
